Privacy Policy

1. Minimal Data Collection

ChatVisionZ is designed with privacy as a core principle. We collect the minimum data necessary to operate the service:

  • Anonymous Session ID: A random identifier generated in your browser. No real name, phone, or address required.
  • Device Fingerprint: Used solely to prevent abuse and enforce bans. Not used for advertising.
  • IP Address: Used for GeoIP region matching and rate limiting. Not stored long-term.
  • Email (optional): Only if you choose to create an account for persistent balance.
  • Interest Tags: Stored temporarily for matchmaking. Deleted when you disconnect.

2. Video & Audio

  • Video and audio streams are peer-to-peer encrypted using DTLS-SRTP.
  • We never record video or audio streams on our servers.
  • Our client-side moderation analyzes video frames entirely in your browser. The detection model runs locally.
  • Only when content is flagged as potentially inappropriate (confidence 40-90%) is a single frame sent to our server for verification. These frames are encrypted and auto-deleted after 30 days.

3. Text Messages

Text messages sent via WebRTC DataChannel are peer-to-peer and not stored on our servers. Messages relayed through our signaling server (fallback only) are processed for moderation and immediately discarded.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

  • Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Sightengine: Server-side content moderation for flagged frames only.
  • OpenAI: Text moderation API. Messages are processed but not stored by OpenAI.
  • Sentry: Error tracking. No personal data is included in error reports.
  • MaxMind: GeoIP database for region detection. Processed locally on our servers.

5. Cookies

We use minimal cookies and local storage:

  • Session token: Anonymous session identifier (sessionStorage, cleared on tab close).
  • Theme preference: Light/dark mode setting (localStorage).
  • Age verification: Whether you confirmed age 18+ (sessionStorage).
  • Device fingerprint: For abuse prevention (localStorage).

6. Your Rights (GDPR/CCPA)

  • Access: Request a copy of your data.
  • Deletion: Request complete deletion of all your data.
  • Portability: Receive your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Objection: Object to processing of your data.

To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@chatvisionz.com. Since we collect minimal data and most of it is anonymous, deletion requests are typically fulfilled immediately.

7. Data Retention

  • Anonymous session data: deleted on disconnect
  • Moderation incident records: retained for 90 days
  • Flagged content frames: auto-deleted after 30 days
  • Transaction records: retained as required by law
  • Ban records: retained for the duration of the ban
